A Peek Into My Life and Business
Hey there! I’m Andrea Rotondo, and I’m a bookkeeper and business owner who works with therapy practice owners.
For me, it’s not just about numbers, it’s about creating a space where money doesn’t feel scary or stressful. This blog is a little peek into my life, my work, and the things that inspire me every day. I hope it gives you a better sense of who I am and why I love what I do.
What is your name and job title?
My name is Andrea Rotondo and I’m a bookkeeper and a business owner. I also think of myself as a financial systems guide and a founder. So you’ll see me use those too.
I wanted to do something that would allow me to stay home to care for our kids while also bringing in some money. My initial goal was to do something “on the side” and “behind the scenes.” Little did I know, I’d end up loving bookkeeping for therapists and teaching them how to understand their financial reports.
I still work from home. The main difference is that I see myself as a business owner and treat my business as such. In the last couple of years, I’ve explored beyond bookkeeping, taking on speaking engagements, Coaching, and currently working toward Profit First certification.
What do you love about your business?
What I love the most about my business is that the impact of knowing and understanding your cash flow is multilayered and very much personal. It’s not an isolated event in the day of my clients. It carries over into their personal finances, reduces their stress levels over money, influences their plans and goals for the future, impacts their team members, and shapes the way they see themselves.
Are you a dog or cat person and why?
Neither! I’m allergic to them so I can’t have them at home and I even have to avoid visiting homes with pets because it will affect me almost immediately. I was not always allergic though, I always had dogs as a kid. So, if I had to choose between cats and dogs, my choice would be dogs. I would love to have a dachshund puppy.
How do you break up your day so it’s most productive?
I like to focus on my most mentally demanding tasks in the morning, therefore I don’t normally have meetings first thing in the day. I also block a couple of days a week for focused work so I’m able to not interrupt my attention. Or, if I end up booking a meeting in those days, they’re generally very “light” type of calls where I won’t have to break down financial reports.
Once my kids are back home from school I won’t have the opportunity for uninterrupted time so I leave tasks like social media, replying to emails, or connecting with my team for the afternoon.
What is one of the best business or finance books you have read?
I don’t think I can choose only one! Here are my top choices:
Essentialism by Greg McKeown
We should all be millionaires by Rachel Rodgers
Cash and Cultura by Giovanna González
What’s one thing you hope your clients feel after working with you?
I know that talking about money is usually avoided, and it tends to bring uncomfortable feelings. So, I intentionally create a space where my clients can feel comfortable and like they belong. My goal with this is for their minds to pair up money talks with “ease”, “comfortable”, “safe”. I want them to know and feel like they got this, like they can, and that they belong.
Where can people find out more about you and what you do?
I work with solo and group therapy practices with either one-time support or month-to-month bookkeeping services. You can learn more about them here: https://www.liquidcentsbookkeeping.com/services
